Some wedding weekends stay with you long after they’re over, and Kelsey and Christopher’s celebration was absolutely one of those. Their wedding was thoughtfully planned as a two-day event, with day one honoring Christopher’s Hindu traditions in a vibrant and meaningful outdoor ceremony, followed by day two — the one I’m sharing here — with a timeless Catholic ceremony and an elegant reception at The Admiral Room in downtown Buffalo. It was such a beautiful reflection of who they are and the life they’re building together. Day two had such a classic, polished feel to it, with all the black-and-white elegance, heartfelt emotion, and joyful celebration you could hope for. A full post from their first celebration is definitely one I’ll be sharing separately, because it deserves its own moment too.
A timeless start to the day
Saturday began at Kelsey’s parents’ home in Hamburg, where the morning felt calm, meaningful, and full of anticipation. We started with detail photos — the rings, jewelry, shoes, invitations, bouquet, and all of the little pieces that quietly tell the story of a wedding day before it unfolds. Even though Kelsey mentioned that traditional getting-ready photos with the bridesmaids were less important to her, the morning still had such a beautiful energy to it. It felt intimate, personal, and focused on the moments that mattered most.
There was something so special about the way this day unfolded. It never felt rushed or performative. It felt intentional. Kelsey and Christopher were so clear about wanting images that felt documentary, real, and emotion-filled, and that energy shaped the day in the most beautiful way. Even in the quieter parts of the morning, you could feel that this was going to be a day centered on meaning, not just aesthetics — though it was certainly stunning too.
A meaningful Catholic ceremony at St. Bernadette’s Church
Their ceremony took place at St. Bernadette’s Church in Orchard Park, and it was such a beautiful, emotional part of the day. Before the ceremony, Kelsey and Christopher shared a private first touch and vow exchange at the church, which gave them a chance to connect before everything officially began. Those kinds of moments are always so meaningful — quiet, emotional, and full of anticipation in the best way.
When it came time for the ceremony, the entire space felt full of reverence, beauty, and so much love. Kelsey walking down the aisle was one of those moments that just stops time for a second. Their ceremony felt timeless in every sense of the word, and knowing how much family history was tied to that church made it even more special. They also made time for family portraits and meaningful documentary-style moments outside the church afterward, greeting guests and soaking it all in before the next part of the day began.
A wedding day that felt deeply personal
One of my favorite things about Kelsey and Christopher’s wedding day was how personal every part of it felt. It was elegant, yes — but never in a way that felt stiff or distant. It felt warm, intimate, and connected. After the ceremony, everyone returned to Kelsey’s parents’ house, where we captured portraits, family moments, and wedding party photos in the backyard and surrounding space. There was such a fun, easy energy during this part of the day — champagne, laughter, movement, hugs, and the kind of candid interaction that brings photos to life.
Kelsey had such a clear vision for wanting a mix of timeless and documentary imagery, and that blend worked so beautifully here. The portraits never felt overly posed. Instead, they felt full of movement, joy, and real connection. You could tell how loved these two are by the people around them, and that always adds something so special to the images.
The Admiral Room: timeless, classy, and unforgettable
As stunning as the entire day was, the reception at The Admiral Room really brought that timeless, black-and-white vision to life. The moment Kelsey and Christopher arrived, everything shifted into that classic downtown elegance that The Admiral Room does so beautifully. The architecture, the mood, the scale of the space — it all felt incredibly refined and cinematic.
Before guests fully filled the room, we captured some portraits of the two of them in the venue, and those images are some of my favorites from the day. There was such a beautiful contrast between the softness of their connection and the grandeur of the space. It all felt classy, editorial, and romantic without losing the emotional warmth that mattered so much throughout the weekend.
Kelsey had also made it clear that cocktail hour was really important to her, and it showed. The flow of the evening allowed for time to soak in the venue, capture the details, and let the celebration unfold in a way that felt relaxed and intentional. From the introductions and speeches to the first dance, dinner, parent dances, and open dancing, the reception was full of energy and heart. It felt grand, but also deeply personal — which is such a beautiful combination.
Black-and-white elegance with so much heart
One of the most defining things about this wedding day was its style. The whole celebration felt so beautifully rooted in a timeless black-and-white aesthetic, and it suited Kelsey and Christopher perfectly. It was classy, elegant, and elevated, but never felt disconnected from the emotion of the day. That balance is what made it all feel so special.
Even beyond the aesthetic, there was such a clear sense of who they are as a couple — kind, fun, deeply connected, and surrounded by so much love. Looking back on their images and film, that’s what stands out most. Yes, the day was beautiful. Yes, the venue was stunning. But more than anything, it was the feeling of it all that made it unforgettable. Their celebration was full of sincerity, joy, family, tradition, and connection, and it was such an honor to document.
